WOC didn’t start as a world-touring music phenomenon… but don’t worry, we thought it might for about five minutes.

Back in 1999, two cousins decided to turn a school project into a full-blown Christian hip-hop group, because why write a paper when you can drop a beat? We wrote and performed one song. One. But that one song somehow became a local hit with our school and community. We even recruited a few friends as backup singers (because every legendary group needs hype people), and the next thing you know, we’re performing at the church Christmas event like we were headlining Madison Square Garden. Spoiler: it was another big hit.

Fast forward to 2006, when we dusted off the rhymes, wrote a few more songs, and performed at a large Christian music conference in Kansas City. That’s where we learned something important: The Christian Music Industry is tough… and we were definitely not the next DC Talk.

So, WOC evolved.

Instead of being the name of the next great Christian hip-hop duo, WOC became our personal battle cry, a reminder to stay strong in faith, keep fighting, and don’t give up. Through life, challenges, sports, and everything in between, “WOC” has been the message we send each other when we need a boost. Sometimes it’s deep. Sometimes it’s motivational. Sometimes it’s just “WOC” in a text at 2 PM for no reason other than, “Hey, you got this.”

Today, WOC isn’t just something we did. It’s who we are, and because it stuck with us, we wanted it to stick with others too, literally. That’s how WOC evolved into a clothing brand. We wanted to take the same message that carried us through all the ups, downs, and “we really thought we could be famous?” moments… and wear it. Share it. Spread it. Inspire it.

The world needs more people who keep pushing forward. More believers who refuse to quit. More fighters who look adversity in the eye and say, “Try me.” More warriors.

Just like the angel told Gideon in Judges 6:12: “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” We believe that’s a truth worth printing on shirts, hoodies, hats, whatever you’ll wear while living it out.

So whether you’re battling through school, sports, work, life, or just trying not to lose your mind in traffic… WOC is your reminder that you’re stronger than you think and you’re never fighting alone.

We may not have made it big in music, but we found something better: A movement. A mantra. A message worth passing on. And honestly? That’s the real hit.
